Biosketch
Dr. Jenkins earned a BS from Mount Union College, an MD from The Ohio State University, and an MS in Clinical Research from Emory University. She completed residency and an ID fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. She spent part of her fellowship doing special training in viral hepatitis, which is her area of clinical and research interest. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Jenkins has thirteen years of post-training experience in the care of HIV and hepatitis C patients, as well as those with general infectious diseases. Her clinical practice is at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland’s public hospital, where she is also the Internal Medicine Clerkship Director for third-year medical students.
In addition to clinical practice, she is involved in several collaborative research projects evaluating new models of care: hepatitis C screening in inpatient and ED settings and provision of buprenorphine therapy in the HIV clinic.
