Needs Statement

Motivational interviewing is a proven evidence-based approached to promote behavior change, but how it is best implemented and maintained in an everyday clinical practice is often not clear.

Target Audience

Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists, Social Workers

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Review the key strategies and skills of motivational interviewing, and how they can be deployed in conversation with people who use drugs
• Identify best practices for integrating motivational interviewing into existing workflows at one’s institution
