Needs Statement

Problematic substance use often goes unrecognized in primary care settings, either due to insufficient screening or provider discomfort with how to manage a positive screen. Understanding and implementing screening and assessment tools can help providers recognize problematic substance use.

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Discuss the need for SUD & Behavioral Health screening & assessment tools
• Review commonly used screening and assessment tools in different populations
• Integrate screening and assessment tools into your workflows
• Formulate multidisciplinary care plans based on these assessments
