Needs Statement

This activity will provide education for primary care physicians in spine care. It will also help identify red flags and make a more specific diagnosis. As a result, patients will get the correct treatment and follow-up.

Target Audience

The target audience for this course includes physicians and nurses.

Objectives

Upon completion of this module, learners will be able to
1. Discuss MIS approaches to thoracolumbar spine surgery.
2. Compare major differences between traditional open and MIS approaches.
3. State advantages and disadvantages of MIS over open.
4. Identify individuals who can benefit from MIS more.
