Needs Statement

Current guidelines recommend the use of medication for opioid use disorder in youth, but this is not commonly used in clinical practice. This activity will help close gaps in provider knowledge of evidence-based treatments for youth with opioid use disorder. 

Target Audience

Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists, Social Workers

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Describe the supporting evidence for the use of medication for opioid use disorder in youth   
• Utilize behavioral treatments for opioid use in youth 
• Identify risk factors that contribute to opioid use among youth
