Needs Statement

Health care providers have limited knowledge about oral cancer. As a result they are often not screening for oral cancer. Outside of dentistry, most providers do not look at the oral cavity for disease, beyond the pharynx. Most providers do not discuss oral cancer signs/symptoms, risk factors and how to mitigate risk with their patients. This module will help with this need.

Target Audience

Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Dentists and Dental Hygienists

  5. Discuss the role of different health care providers in caring for patients throughout the course of oral cancer treatment
