Needs Statement

UK HealthCare recognizes the importance of nursing leadership and the challenges these individuals face in their day-to-day work. The nurse leader panelists share their leadership styles, what/who inspires them, personal care philosophies, and the importance of work-life balance in avoiding burnout.

Target Audience

UK HealthCare Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses

Objectives

After the completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • State at least two different leadership styles used in nursing
  • Identify challenges experienced in nursing leadership
  • Discuss care philosophies and how they align with leading teams

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, University of Kentucky HealthCare CECentral is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
