Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the need for and identify types of recovery support services.
  2. Describe the Social Determinants of Health approach to harm reduction.
  3. Implement an evidence-based approach to harm reduction programs.
  4. Incorporating staff programs for people with a substance use disorder.
  5. Ensuring inclusion of vulnerable populations in harm reduction services such as: LGBTQ+, unhoused, mothers, gender violence victims, and people with mental health disorders.
  6. Describe integrated prevention and treatment models for health access, linkages to care, medication for opioid use disorder, prevention education and infectious disease testing through Syringe Services Programs (SSPs).

Target Audience

The target audience for this conference includes physicians, nurses, social workers, public health professionals, certified alcohol and drug counselors, community health workers, licensed professional clinical counselors, adult support counselors, and target case managers.
