Needs Statement
Hospitalists sometimes struggle to maintain currency with the broad and rapidly-changing evidence in our field, and many community hospitalists around the region lack access to
subspecialists.
Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Discuss landmark articles in the field of Hospital Medicine that have come out in the past year
2. Deliver compassionate care across the spectrum of clinical scenarios
3. Identifying appropriately manage weight loss medications
4. Recognize the strengths and opportunities related to rapid response teams at their home hospital
5. Describe potential future applications for wearable technology with in the hospital setting
6. Review how to optimally manage chronic inpatient conditions such as respiratory failure, pressure ulcers, and liver failure
