Overview

This conference will provide updates and new information relevant to the care of children and adolescents who receive medical care at Children’s Advocacy Centers.  Healthcare providers will receive updates regarding online safety for children, forensic evidence collection in cases of acute sexual assault, and forensic evidence analysis by the Kentucky State Police Forensic Laboratory.  Providers will discuss with prosecutors how to answer difficult questions posed to them on the witness stand.  Providers will learn to identify signs of child physical abuse and discuss cases of child sexual abuse that involve sexually transmitted infections and injuries, as well as pose challenges.
