Dr. Adams is an Associate Professor in the department of Pharmacy Practice and Science in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky. He co-chairs the protocol review and monitoring committee for the Markey Cancer Center. He received his B.S. in pharmacy from the University of Utah and received his doctor of pharmacy from the University of Texas. He did an oncology residency at the Audie Murphy VA in San Antonio and an immunology fellowship at the University of Florida.

Danielle Backers, a Doctorate of Pharmacy graduate from the University of Kentucky, started her career as a pharmacy co-manager in the retail sector. She then transitioned into managed care, where she excelled in oncology prior authorizations and clinical quality for CMS audit validation. Her recent career move brought her to UK HealthCare, where she is now a clinical pharmacist with the Medication Access and Innovation Center. In this role, she is a liaison between UKHC and payers, streamlining patient care and ensuring efficacious access to care through clinical pathways.

Kelley Carlstrom, PharmD, BCOP

Kelley Carlstrom is the CEO and founder of KelleyCPharmD, an education company that fills the considerable gap in clinical oncology training. She is passionate about democratizing oncology pharmacy education and increasing accessibility and inclusion through her unique L.E.A.R.N Oncology Method.

Kelley received her Doctor of Pharmacy from The University of Colorado and completed post-graduate residency training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA.

She is a board-certified oncology pharmacist that has worked in a variety of traditional and non-traditional settings including at large academic and small community cancer centers, as a consultant for a large electronic medical record implementation, and in the healthcare technology space helping create digital products for oncology clinicians and patients.

Kelley is also a prolific content creator, sharing clinical and motivational pearls about oncology. She is part of the LinkedIn Top Voices program, an invitation-only program that recognizes and celebrates the most influential and engaging professionals on LinkedIn.

Since 2022, he has served as a Hematology & Bone Marrow Transplant clinical pharmacist at Markey Cancer Center, recently transitioning into a new role as Cellular Therapy and Oncology REMS Program Coordinator.

Dr Bryant Clemons originally from Clarkson KY received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May 2018 His practice areas of interest include hematologyoncology infectious disease and academia In addition to his clinical responsibilities Dr Clemons is currently a member of the Grand Rounds and Kentucky Konnection committees Dr Clemons is actively involved with the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy serving as a preceptor to fourth year pharmacy students on rotations facilitating small group discussions and providing lectures In order to improve as a teacher he will complete the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program His current research is focused on evaluating the diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections before and after the implementation of a new institutional guideline Upon completion of his PGY1 residency Dr Clemons plans to complete a PGY2 residency in hematologyoncology Ultimately he plans to pursue a clinical pharamacist position at an academic medical center associated with a college of pharmacy In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife cleaning up after his two puppies and going out to eat and to the movies

Brette Conliffe, PharmD, BCOP

Brette is a clinical oncology pharmacy supervisor in Louisville, Kentucky at the UofL Health/Brown Cancer Center. She received her undergraduate degree in chemistry at Centre College and her PharmD from the University of Kentucky. She completed two years of residency at UofL Health and the Brown Cancer Center, specializing in oncology. She currently practices in the multidisciplinary outpatient solid tumor clinics (primarily genitourinary and gastrointestinal cancers). She precepts APPE students as well as PGY1 and PGY2 residents on a variety of rotations and is a guest lecturer for oncology topics at Sullivan College of Pharmacy. Additionally, she has served as faculty for the ASHP/ACCP BCOP Review Course for Prostate Cancer since 2020. She was named “40 Under 40 in Cancer” by the Lynx Group in 2021 and is a graduate of the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Academy Class of 2023.

Dr. Cupac is a hematology/oncology clinical pharmacist at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center. Her clinical practice areas include inpatient and outpatient malignant hematology and stem cell transplant. Originally from Williamsburg, Kentucky, she received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of the Cumberlands and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice and PGY2 specialty residency in hematology/oncology at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Dr. Cupac's teaching activities include participating in the oncology therapeutics curriculum as well as precepting students and residents on inpatient malignant hematology and blood & marrow transplant service lines and ambulatory hematology rotations. Her research interests include lymphomas, allogeneic transplant, and cardiovascular toxicity of chemotherapy.

She is actively involved in clinical research and quality improvement projects throughout the cancer center.

Jenna Houranieh is a board-certified oncology pharmacy practitioner and serves as the VA National TeleOncology Pharmacy Program Manager. She began her pharmacy career graduating from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2011. She went on to complete a general PGY1 and Hem/Onc focused PGY2 residency at the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System from 2011-2013. She then moved to Lexington, KY and served as the Hem/Onc Clinical Pharmacist at the Lexington VA from 2013 until 2021 before joining the National TeleOncology Program in 2021. She supervises a team of 7 oncology CPPs and helps coordinate virtual clinical pharmacy services to over 96 collaborating VA Medical Centers.

Finally she is a 2023 diplomate of the ASHP pharmacy leadership academy.
