Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Review the most recent evidence regarding prehospital care of medical, trauma, and pediatric patients as they apply to EMS medical care.
  • Discuss the use of a centralized database for children with special healthcare needs in the prehospital care of these children in an emergency.
  • Discuss the development of buprenorphine as a prehospital treatment for opioid withdrawal and the elements of a successful prehospital buprenorphine program.
