Patricia Freeman, RPh, PhD, FAPhA

Biography

Dr. Freeman's research interests are focused on substance use policy. In addition to her role as research lead for the Kentucky’s BJA COAP Category 6 project Data-driven Responses to Prescription Drug Misuse in Kentucky, she is a co-investigator on the NIH initiative Helping to End Addition Long-term (HEAL), a trans-agency effort to speed scientific solutions to stem the national opioid public health crisis. Other recent activities include evaluating prescription drug monitoring programs and their impact and effectiveness at preventing prescription drug misuse and diversion.

She earned a BS in pharmacy and a PhD from the University of Kentucky and completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.

Michelle Lofwall, MD, DFASAM

Biography

Dr. Lofwall completed residency training in Psychiatry and a clinical research fellowship in behavioral pharmacology at Johns Hopkins University.

The First Bridge outpatient opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment clinic provides comprehensive care to patients discharging from the emergency room and inpatient medical/surgical services.

Her clinical research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and industry with a focus on improving treatment of substance use disorders. She was as an expert panel member on SAMHSA’s newly published Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP 63) for Medication Treatment of OUD, a board member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, an invited speaker to the National Academy of Medicine, and recipient of several medical student teaching and mentorship awards.

Dana Quesinberry, JD

Biography

Dana earned a BA from Thomas More College, a JD from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, and is currently pursuing a PhD, focusing on public health management, at the University of Kentucky College of Public Health.

She has worked in community-based substance abuse prevention with the Rowan County UNITE Coalition, a prior Drug Free Communities Support Program grantee. She is a graduate of CADCA’s National Coalition Academy.
