Welcome to the PHAB Training page on CECentral. The four-part online orientation training provides a foundation of understanding about national public health department accreditation.
Here we offer a number of modules that can help you successfully prepare for accreditation. In addition to the orientation, you will find targeted modules for specific audiences and general information that would be helpful to anyone with an interest in accreditation.
These training modules have been developed with you in mind. They will support the learner by increasing knowledge and understanding about the national accreditation process. For applicants and site visitors, these modules can serve as refreshers to in-person trainings.
Whether you are here as a required participant in the accreditation process or you just wish to learn more about accreditation, this is a good place to start. About the Online Orientation
The four chapters in the orientation will each take from 30-45 minutes to complete. You may review them all at one sitting, which should take about two and ½ hours, or you may review each of the modules individually. While you may complete the modules in any order desired, we suggest that you complete them in sequence as the information presented in each module builds upon the previous module.
These activities have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, ANCC nursing continuing education credits, and public health continuing education credits.
Steps for Completion
Health Department Directors and Accreditation Coordinators
After viewing each chapter, click on the “Get Credit” button. You will be directed to an evaluation where you will receive a Certificate of Completion for that module. Information from this evaluation is very important in determining practice gaps, educational needs, and helps in planning future continuing education programs.
To receive your unique PIN signifying you have completed the required orientation training, you must complete all four of the prerequisite modules, plus the final comprehensive evaluation.
Your unique PIN will display on your Certificate of Completion as confirmation that you have completed the online orientation as required by PHAB.
