Michael Citak, MD, MBA, FACS, CPE

Dr. Michael Citak, MD is a Chicago native. He is a General Surgery specialist in Somerset, KY. He attended and graduated from Vanderbilt University School Of Medicine in 1986, having over 31 years of diverse experience, especially in General Surgery. He served in the United States Air Force as a General Surgeon, earning various teaching honors and taking care of active duty troops. He has also done clinical fellowships in interventional ERCP and general thoracic surgery. He worked in a private practice surgical group in Somerset, KY doing a wide range of open, laparoscopic, thoracic and endoscopic procedures. While in practice he completed an MBA at the University of Tennessee and then shifted toward an administrative role serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital since 2007. He currently maintains a modest clinical practice while managing his CMO duties. He is Board Certified in Surgery, is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety, and a Certified Physician Executive by the American Association for Physician Leadership.
