Biosketch
Lisa Macon Harrison has worked at the intersection of public health research and practice in North Carolina since 1995. Her areas of expertise and public health leadership and training include training the public health workforce in NC in Evidence-Based Public Health Approaches, establishing the Quality Improvement training program for the NC Division of Public Health (NCDPH) with a focus on applying QI tools in LEAN and the Model for Improvement, directing the NC Office of Healthy Carolinians and Health Education at NCDPH, Leading the North Carolina Public Health Incubator Collaboratives Program, directing the Southeast Public Health Leadership Institute (SEPHLI), providing steering committee guidance on NC Institute of Medicine (NCIOM) Task Forces including implementing Evidence-Based Strategies in Public Health: Improving North Carolina’s Health: Applying Evidence for Success. 2012, Prevention Workgroup on Examining the Impact of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in North Carolina. 2012, and Healthy North Carolina 2020: A Better State of Health. 2011.
In 2011, Ms. Harrison worked with the NC Center for Public Health Quality, the NC Division of Public Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on a Public Health Infrastructure grant for performance improvement.
She has a BS in Public Health, a BA Public Policy and an MPH from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill. Lisa remains associated with UNC as an adjunct research associate in the Public Health Leadership Program.
