Janice L. Bright, BSN, RN

Jan Bright is the Nurse Manager of the Child and Family Health Improvement Branch in the Division of Maternal and Child Health for the Kentucky Department for Public Health. She provides oversight and project direction of programs supporting surveillance, case management, and prevention activities for infants, children, and mothers. Jan’s 33 years in nursing has spanned direct bedside care for children with special health care needs at Shriners Hospital, neonatal and pediatric intensive care nursing at the University of Kentucky, Public health nursing in childcare health consultation, school nursing, and other programs at the local and state level. She is passionate about improving the safety and well-being of infants, children, and mothers. She reminds everyone who will listen that every person has the ability to raise awareness and save a life
