Phyllis Siegel is a named inventor on several patents. Prior to founding BDC, Ms. Siegel practiced as an attorney and a CPA. She founded BDC (Biomedical Development Corporation) in 1984 to “save” her inventor-clients from going broke. What began as a cash flow analysis ultimately evolved into a technology transfer strategy. From the very beginning, she recognized that development and commercialization required a multitude of very specialized skill-sets as the technology is transferred from the mind of an inventor, to the creation of a formula, to the clinical trials of a product, through the regulatory approval process, to manufacturing, to financial viability, to marketing and sales, to the shelves in hospitals and home medicine cabinets. BDC’s constant goal is to create products that deliver superior clinical outcomes.
