Biosketch
A 1984 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Dr. William Watson earned his MD and PhD in Neuroscience from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS). He then completed his internship in internal medicine at Bethesda Naval Hospital, followed by a three-year Neurology residency at the National Capital Consortium.
Dr. Watson has served as Chair of the Department of Neurology at Bethesda Naval, an Associate Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience at USUHS, Chairman of the USUHS Department of Neurology as well as Director of the USUHS Neurology Labs.
Dr. Watson’s clinical focus is General Neurology, and his research interests are broad with most recent works focused on energy disruption associated with traumatic brain injury, especially impairment of the aspartate-malate shuttle in rats and improvement of cognitive performance associated with the ketogenic diet. Dr. Watson serves on the editorial board for two scientific journals and brings extensive publication and presentation experience to KNI.
At KNI, he is the clinical and inpatient Director of General Neurology
