Joe is an American Heart Association ACLS and PALS Instructor, a Paramedic, and an AHA Training Center Coordinator.
Joe, along with Glenn Phillips, founded First Response in December 1995. They have spent countless hours in the classroom training students to become Emergency Medical Technicians, Firefighters, and Paramedics. They branched out to provide instruction to first responders in the industrial setting. In 2001, First Response paired with the American Heart Association and became the AHA's Community Training Center for Central Kentucky. Over the years, they have trained literally thousands of healthcare providers in both Basic and Advanced Life Support. Together, they bring over forty years of combined experience in EMS and public safety. In addition to their efforts in fire suppression, they are both active paramedics and have served on ALS ambulances.
Joe has served as President of First Response of the Bluegrass since the company was formed. He is a retired Battalion Chief from the Lexington Fire Department where he was in charge of the Division's Hazardous Materials Operations.
