Biosketch
Dr. Paul Anaya received his MD and PhD degrees from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX in 1999. He completed his internal medicine residency training (2002) and cardiology fellowship training (2006) at Emory University in Atlanta, GA . He currently is employed at the University of Kentucky, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine as a general cardiologist where he attends the cardiac critical care unit, inpatient general cardiology, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology services in addition to outpatient general cardiology clinics at UK and the VA medical center, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology services. Dr. Anaya has previously served as the director of the cardiac critical care unit at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital as well as director of the cardiology inpatient service, and currently serves as the program director for the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology fellowship training program and Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the Department of Medicine. Dr. Anaya is also a co- investigator in several investigator initiated clinical research endeavors through the UK Aortic Alliance, Cardiac Amyloidosis Alliance, and Myocardial Recovery Alliance cardiovascular research groups.
