Biosketch
Brittany Smith, PharmD, BCACP, is an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist who currently practices in the UK HealthCare ambulatory care clinics providing ambulatory care clinical pharmacy services.
Dr. Smith earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. She completed her post-graduate year one pharmacy practice residency at the St. Louis VA HealthCare System in St. Louis, Missouri, and her post-graduate year two ambulatory care pharmacy practice residency at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and Bluegrass Community Health Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Dr. Smith is board certified in ambulatory care pharmacy practice. Dr. Smith is a current member of the American College of Cardiology, where she serves on the College’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Cardiovascular Team Section’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Work Group, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Anticoagulation Forum, and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Dr. Smith has a vision to grow, advance, and optimize clinical pharmacy in ambulatory care spaces through progressive pharmacist-driven services. Her clinical and professional interests include chronic disease state management, anticoagulation, women’s health, diversity, equity and inclusion, health disparities, and cultural competency.
Prior to her current position, Brittany served full-time as a clinical pharmacist in the UK HealthCare Anticoagulation Clinic located in the UK Gill Heart & Vascular Institute.
