Biosketch
Dr. Galbraith earned an MTS in Theological Studies from the Vanderbilt Divinity School and a PhD in religion from Vanderbilt University. He earned an AB from Centre College. He also completed a fellowship in clinical ethics through Vanderbilt's Center for Biomedical Ethics and Society. Dr. Galbraith is a Certified IRB Professional (CIP®).
Dr. Galbraith is responsible for overseeing education in the responsible conduct of research for university researchers as well as coordinating investigations related to allegations of potential research misconduct.
Prior to joining UI-UC, Dr. Galbraith managed the Human Subject Protection Office at the Carle Foundation Hospital, a 393-bed regional care hospital based in Urbana, Illinois. He continues to support this office by overseeing daily operations of the Carle Foundation Hospital Institutional Review Board (IRB) and providing human subjects research training to investigators and research support staff. He also participates in the hospital’s ethics consultation service.
