Biosketch
Dr. Kuhn earned a BA in philosophy from the University of Steubenville (Ohio), a BS in pharmacy from The Ohio State University, and a PharmD from the University of Texas at Austin and completed a pediatric fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Kuhn has been a member of the CF care team since 1985.
Dr. Kuhn’s research and clinical practice has centered on pulmonary drug delivery and drug therapy in patients with cystic fibrosis. He has participated in many clinical trials of new drug therapies for patients with CF over the last 35 years and helped develop and evaluate new therapies for this disease. He has over 80 publications and helped organize pharmacists involvement in the care of patients with cystic fibrosis. He has received numerous awards including a member of National Academy of Practice, the Doug Jones Teaching Award from Dartmouth for his work in cystic fibrosis education, and recognition with several awards for his work with cystic fibrosis and pediatric drug therapy.
Dr. Kuhn has made over 300 presentations on pediatric drug therapy and has published over 70 papers on this topic. He is a reviewer for nine journals and is active in many professional organizations. He is the recent recipient of the Helms Award, given by PPAG, in recognition of outstanding practice in pediatric pharmacy, training of residents and students, and scholarly activity.
He was the recipient of the 2017 Paul Parker Award.
