Biosketch
Dr. Hao graduated from Inner Mongolia Medical College in Northern China. He subsequently pursued his passion for basic research and earned a Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry at the University of Tokyo. Following a productive postdoctoral period at the University of Virginia, he completed training in internal medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine and Hematology and Oncology at Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute. He is currently a Professor of Medicine and Cancer Biology at the University of Kentucky’s Markey Cancer Center. He is also the medical director of the Markey Cancer Center Clinical Research Organization and the founding medical director of Markey’s Multisite Research Operations. His research interests include molecularly targeted therapy and immunotherapy in aerodigestive cancers. He co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers and is PI of multiple Investigator-Initiated Clinical Trials including the cutting-edge CART cell trial and BiTE in lung cancer.
