Biosketch
Dr. Avritt completed his medical education, anesthesiology residency, and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He is board-certified in anesthesiology and critical care medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Avritt practices at the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital, where he provides care in the cardiac, neuro, and surgical intensive care units, as well as in the operating room. Passionate about medical education, he serves as the faculty lead for the quarterly resident journal club and is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
His clinical and academic interests include mechanical circulatory support and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), areas in which he strives to advance care and improve patient outcomes.
