Val Slayton, MD, MPP, MBA, FACP

Dr. Slayton is the Regional Medical Director for Humana Senior Products, Medicare East Region. Before joining Humana, he held several hospital leadership positions, including Vice President Medical Affairs with Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s Healthcare (within KentuckyOne Health) and Chief Medical Officer for UMassMemorial HealthAlliance Hospital (MA). Earlier in his career, Dr. Slayton was Chief Medical Officer for Fallon Community Health Plan (MA), Vice President Medical Affairs for HealthAmerica (PA), and Medical Director with Molina Healthcare (OH). He is currently a member of the Humana Louisville Bold Goal Board of Directors, the Louisville Health Advisory Board Behavioral Health Subcommittee, the Dare to Care Food Bank Board of Directors, and the co-chair of the Professional Training Company Support Committee at Actors Theatre of Louisville. He also served as an Examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award at both the national and state level.
