Biosketch
A Lexington native, Dr. Sarah Marks graduated from UK with a Bachelor of Arts degree in linguistics and English. She received her Master of Arts in linguistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then returned to UK for medical school. She completed her family medicine residency at St. Joseph Family Medicine Residency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She worked in medical student education and the Interprofessional Teaching Clinic at the University of Kansas before coming to the University of Kentucky in 2019. At UK, Dr. Marks is the associate program director and maternity care director in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and is focused on residency education and curriculum design. Her clinical interests include LGBTQ* health, women’s health, substance use disorders and family centered maternity care and she is one class away from completing a Master of Education degree.
Dr, Marks joined the University of Kansas Family Medicine department's Interprofessional Teaching Clinic and the Family Medicine Clerkship before coming back to UK.
