Biosketch
Dr. Hiday earned a PharmD from Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Indianapolis, Indiana, and an MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She practices within a Family Medicine Residency clinic where she strives to fully integrate ambulatory care pharmacy services within the multidisciplinary team-based approach to patient care. Her clinical focus is chronic disease management, including diabetes, cardiovascular risk reduction, asthma and COPD, smoking cessation, and anticoagulation. Rachael is also the Residency Program Director for the PGY2 Ambulatory Care residency program at Indiana University Health. In addition to her clinical duties, Rachael has a faculty appointment with the Indiana University School of Medicine delivering pharmacotherapy lectures to both medical students and family medicine medical residents.
Prior to her current role, Rachael was a clinical pharmacist and then the manager of clinical pharmacy services for a large managed care organization specifically developing and implementing initiatives to integrate the ambulatory care clinical pharmacist within the population health team and the patient-centered medical home.
Rachael has spoken both locally and nationally on a variety of pharmacotherapy topics for physicians, advanced practice providers, and pharmacists including safely managing chronic opioid patients, management of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, redefining the COPD practice model, and several topics surrounding cardiovascular risk reduction.
Rachael is passionate about the advancement of ambulatory care pharmacy services and as well as developing patient relationships to educate and empower her patients to reach optimal health outcomes.
