Biosketch
Gaurang Vaidya, MD, FACC, is a cardiologist specializing in heart failure, heart transplant, and cardiac amyloidosis management. He is the Director of Cardiac Amyloidosis and the Chief of the Amyloidosis
Alliance at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Vaidya trained at SUNY Upstate Medical University, the University of Louisville, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Vaidya has extensive experience in advanced heart failure management and has led numerous clinical research projects. He was inaugurated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha (ΑΩΑ) honor society for his dedication to leadership, education, and research. He is the recipient of multiple research grants including a postgraduate fellowship from the ΑΩΑ, an early career UK CCTS grant, and a co-investigator for an NIH R01 grant. He led the establishment of a Center of Excellence for cardiac amyloidosis care at UK, with an easy streamlined protocol for cardiac amyloidosis referrals and
which includes telemedicine for patients unable to travel. He has been on the forefront of education with multiple conferences and grand rounds delivered on amyloidosis at various venues across Kentucky and Tennessee
