Biosketch
Dr. Mais Al-Kawaz received her medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. She then completed Neurology residency at the New York Presbyterian hospital- Weill Cornell Medial Center. She went on to complete fellowship training in Neurocritical care at Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by neurointerventional Surgery subspeciality training at Mount Sinai Hospital in NY.
She is currently an Interventional Neurologist, and an assistant professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Radiology at the university of Kentucky. She treats a variety of cerebrovascular pathologies in adults and the pediatric population including, acute ischemic stroke, cerebral aneurysms, vascular malformations, carotid stenosis, and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Her academic research focuses on acute ischemic stroke and vasospasm in subarachnoid hemorrhage patients.”
