Biosketch
Dr. Rebecca Bowers is a London, KY native and attended Transylvania University for undergraduate school. She completed her medical degree at the University of Kentucky as well as her residency in emergency medicine and served as Chief Resident during her final year there. She began her medical career at Deaconess Hospital in Indiana, and then returned to the University of Kentucky to work and teach in 2004. Since then, she has spent 6 months living and working in Taupo, New Zealand as a senior medical officer in the Accident and Emergency Department and is currently an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine in the University of Kentucky’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program. She has a particular love for wilderness and environmental medicine and has developed a research interest in snake envenomation. She spends her time outside of work travelling internationally with her family, camping, hiking, trail running and competing in triathlon.
