Biosketch
Adrienne Matson, PharmD, BCPS, received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from Valparaiso University and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. Dr. Matson completed her pharmacy practice residency at the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky and an ACCP Heart Failure Traineeship with the University of North Carolina Heart Failure Program in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In 2006, she received her board certification in pharmacotherapy from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. Dr. Matson began her career as a clinical pharmacist at the Lexington VAMC and went on to become the Pharmacy Medication Reconciliation Program Manager and later a Primary Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and Cholesterol Clinic Coordinator. Following her career at the VA, Dr. Matson worked in the field of continuing medical education before joining the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy (UK COP). She currently works with the UK COP Office of External Studies to facilitate pharmacy preceptor development and the Center for the Advancement of Pharmacy Practice to create continuing professional development programming for pharmacists throughout Kentucky.
